Heating Frequently Ask Questions

What are the signs that my heating system needs repair?
It’s often the small changes that tell you that your heating system is struggling. Watch for things like odd noises, uneven temperatures from room to room, higher energy bills, or a system that keeps turning on and off. Strange smells coming from your unit are another red flag. If you notice any of these, it’s best to call a heating contractor in Fountain CO before a minor issue grows into a full breakdown.
How can I improve the efficiency of my heating system?
A few simple habits can go a long way toward lowering energy use and keeping your heater in shape. Change or clean out your filters on schedule, keep vents and ducts clear, and seal up any leaks in your ductwork so heat isn’t wasted. Upgrading to a programmable thermostat can also help you save by matching your heating to your daily routine. Pair these steps with regular professional maintenance, and your system will stay efficient through Fountain’s colder months.
What is the average lifespan of a heating system?
The lifespan of your heating system depends on the type of unit and how well it’s cared for. Furnaces typically last 15 to 20 years, while boilers and heat pumps usually run closer to 10 to 15 years. With regular heating maintenance in Fountain and timely repairs, you can often stretch those numbers and keep your system working reliably for longer.
How do I know if I need to replace my heating system?
Replacement is worth considering once your system is more than 15 years old, needs frequent repairs, or drives up your energy bills. Uneven heating from room to room is another sign it’s probably time for an upgrade. Give us a call for a professional inspection to confirm whether a repair will hold or if a new system will save you money in the long run.
What are the benefits of upgrading to a high-efficiency heating system?
High-efficiency systems use less energy, which means lower monthly utility bills and a smaller environmental impact. They deliver more consistent heating, often come with advanced comfort features, and may even qualify for rebates or tax credits that help offset the upfront cost.
How can I reduce my heating costs without replacing my system?
Simple energy-saving habits can make a big difference. Seal up drafts, add insulation where it’s lacking, and use a programmable thermostat to match heating to your schedule. Scheduling regular maintenance also keeps your system efficient, helping cut energy use and lower monthly costs.

The wheel which turns the blower was failing. Zach came out and replaced it. He did a great job, performing the work quickly but with care. The blower works better now then when it was first installed.

Eric was great. We have had people come work on our furnace before. He outperformed all of them by a wide margin. He explained what he was doing and why. It was a real pleasure having him in our home. He will be back in a few days to install a full home humidity system. Looking forward to having him in our home again to complete installing the humidity system.
